Southend-on-Sea & Essex
Tarmac driveways, extensions and extra parking across Southend-on-Sea and nearby Essex towns. The area is dug out, a compacted sub-base goes down, and the tarmac is laid with neat edges and kerb details.
What's included
Every job is planned around the property: material, colour, laying pattern and edge detail are discussed with you, then the work is built carefully and the site is cleaned up at the end.

A firm edge holds the tarmac in place and gives a clean line where it meets lawn, beds or paving.
Tarmac can be combined with block-paved borders, gravel or planting, which can also give rainwater somewhere to go.
Colours on screen are approximate. Physical samples can be brought when the job is discussed, and suitability is confirmed on site.
Worth knowing
Like any driveway, tarmac relies on the ground being dug out to a firm level and a compacted sub-base. The depth depends on the ground and the vehicles using it, so it is assessed on site.
Standard tarmac doesn't let water soak through. In England, more than 5 m² of impermeable surface in a front garden normally needs planning permission unless the water drains to a lawn, border or soakaway. The Planning Portal has the current guidance.
If the new parking needs a new or wider entrance onto the road, the dropped kerb is approved and arranged through the local council.

Tarmac gives a smooth, seamless, dark finish and suits larger or simpler areas. Block paving offers more colours, patterns and borders. Both can be discussed on site, and they can be combined.

Yes. Lawn Bros has turned planted beds into extra parking: dug out, sub-base laid, tarmac surfaced and finished with posts and rope. See the photos on this page.
